Better Late Than Never

What a welcome!

All things that reminded me of my childhood were back in my life; the abundance of rice at EVERY meal, the eating with the hands, the children's table, the many "sssssssst!" or "sssshhhhhht" sounds to get someone's  attention, the kiss of the smelling nostrils and the pointing using the pucker of the lips......aaaahhhhh yes, it's all coming back to me now. Oh how I have missed it dearly. Eating dinner with the family here made me feel as if I had re winded back to the first half of my life that I spent at my Auntie Sally's House or of the summers spent in Sacramento at my Uncle Louie's House. I miss those days. One thing that is clearly obvious here in the Philippines is the importance of family and I'm so happy that my mother and I have made the effort to reconnect with our long lost relatives. It's been at least 50 years...I don't understand why it has taken so long. It doesn't matter though, it feels like I've known these people forever. It is true what they say, "Better late than never."

Public Transportation...ha! I love it!
