Kyoto Trip Pt 2: Nature and wildlife

Only one shrine and one shrine only! This is all I wanted on this day...the Fushimi Inari Shrine and it was the best one in my opinion. It is outdoors, free, open 24 hours and requires a bit of a hike up and down the mountain side through the vibrant orange archways. A good start to my morning but not the last hike of the day. Before we left to travel to the outskirts of Kyoto, a quick look at Tadao Ando's Building I & II
Calum and I took a trip out to Arsashiyama, located on the western outskirts of Kyoto. The bamboo groves were amazing but the most exciting part was the wild Japanese monkeys! It was a 20 minute hike up to the top of the mountain for breath taking views of the city and to see the monkeys during their feeding time. They roam the mountains on their own but because they are used to being around humans, it allowed us to get extremely close to them.
Loving every second of this moment

Monkey slide?
Oh yeah and of course, Matcha Green Tea ice cream, have to have one per day. My Matcha Green Tea intake has doubled since I have come to Japan. Green tea espresso, green tea cake, green tea kit kat, green tea ice cream, can't stop won't stop!
